He was also&nbsp;the lead director of the Board of CI Financial Corporation and has served on the Boards of a number of public, private and charitable organizations.Mr. Derksen was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sun Life Financial Inc., where he was responsible for Sun Life Financial’s Actuarial, Investment and Risk Management functions, Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, and Investor Relations.Prior to joining Sun Life, Mr. Derksen was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CT Financial Services Inc. and Canada Trustco Mortgage Company, Chairman of Tuscan Property Ltd, and Executive Vice President and director of Merrill Lynch Canada Inc.Mr. Derksen is a CPA, CA and holds an Honours B.A. in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario which positions him perfectly to take a lead role on RIFO’s Board and its supporting committees such as Audit and Risk.Ms. Lai and Mr. Derksen are powerful additions to the RIFO Holding Group Board of Directors and we look forward to the very profitable contributions that they will bring.
